On May 22nd, 2023, a Woodturning Workshop in Moneygall captivated participants as they delved into the captivating art of woodturning. Led by woodturner Declan McCraith, this immersive workshop aimed to inspire creativity and impart essential woodworking skills.

The Woodturning Workshop provided an excellent opportunity for beginners to explore the world of woodworking, as well as more experience makers who wanted to enhance their expertise.

During the workshop, attendees were introduced to various aspects of woodturning. The curriculum covered topics such as lathe operation, chisels handling, safety protocols, and techniques for turning wet and dry timber. Participants were also treated to live demonstrations on crafting both live edge and standard bowls, followed by in-depth discussions on sanding, finishing, timber selection, and the conversion and proper storage of timber blanks.
